Banking Playbook

Welcome back!

We’ll be back later this month with 1) A deep-dive research piece I wrote 2) a Guest interview in the Direct Lending space and 3) Part III of the NYC City Guide (This time focusing on Credit Shops).

But for today, I wanted to speak about a new venture that I launched earlier this week:

Introducing, Banking Playbook, a very detailed deck that was built to help you recruit for IB.

When I got inbound from the Investment Banking Analysts who worked on this, I was blown away by the draft deck they sent me. Not only are they in great Investment Banking seats, but they put a lot of effort into the draft deck they sent me.

While I’ve been working with them over the past couple months, they’ve continued to pound away and make detailed reversions, ultimately reaching a 248 page deck! Myself and the Bankers who put this together were obsessed with creating the next, go-to Investment Banking guide.

In a way, this cannibalizes a lot of my materials - but my recruiting and internship days were a while ago at this point and I know the future of HYH adjacent content is going to be about letting talented Gen Z professionals step up to freshen and beef up things like Analyst & Associate recruiting up - so I’m very excited to be delivering this product.

Let’s be real - legacy Investment Banking prep materials have gotten stale and pricey. This aligned really well with what I’m all about: Providing a high quality product and very detailed content at a price point that aggressively undercuts stagnant and complacent incumbents. It’s a no brainer to drop a fresh, relevant set of materials for Students and Professionals recruiting for IB.

The Deck is very detailed, but we also separated the materials into 3 individual modules for those who don’t want to buy the whole thing:

• A technical questions overview with a teach-in on accounting, valuation, relative valuation, DCFs, LBOs, and M&As

• A module on how networking and the application process works, how to source internships, and a robust list of behavioral questions

• A module on best practices to secure a return offer during your Investment Banking internship, as well as how to participate in full time recruiting

We’ve put together a brief teaser deck as well so you can preview the Playbook.
